Myozan Kodo Kilroy is a Soto Zen Buddhist priest and a Dharma Heir of Taigu Turlur, in the lineage of Nishijima Roshi. Based in Dublin, Ireland, he leads the Zen Buddhism Ireland sangha, where he is resident teacher, and DIT ZEN, a sangha based at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), the university where he is on the academic staff.
The schedule and format for the day will differ from our regular days of mindfulness. There will be a number of sitting meditation sessions (20/30 minutes) throughout the day, indoor and outdoor walking meditation, a short talk, time for questions and a closing ceremony. Meals will be in silence.
The day will follow the (a little more relaxed) schedule of what is found in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition. It is suitable for beginners and those with meditation experience. Rev. Myozan Kodo , is an Irish Soto Zen Buddhist priest and he will be our guide for the day.
Please arrive for 9:45 and be in the meditation hall by 9:55.
Please bring your vegetarian lunch and a bottle of water.
Tea and coffee will will be served at lunch.
Chairs are provided and if you wish to sit on the floor, bring a mat, cushion or sitting bench.
The majority of the day will be silent and we are asked not to talk in the meditation room. This will help create an atmosphere of silent support throughout the day.
Weather permitting we will walk in the gardens, please bring appropriate shoes and jacket.
