We would like you to help us transform emotional health and wellbeing support across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay.
You are invited to join the Devon Sustainability and Transformation Partnership and the South West Academic Health Science Network at a local workshop to connect with like-minded colleagues to help enhance support for children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing.
The events will further develop the i-THRIVE programme, which aims to implement the key principles of the THRIVE framework, developed by a collaboration of authors from the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. THRIVE is a conceptual framework for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), which is an integrated, person-centred and needs-led approach to delivering mental health services for children, young people and their families. The THRIVE framework and its principles will underpin all future delivery models of Children and Young People’s Community Health and Wellbeing Services.
The THRIVE framework and its principles are the foundations of how we will build support for our children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing.
The objectives of the workshops are to:
Understand the THRIVE framework and principles it is based on
Form communities of practice to support the i-THRIVE programme
Develop action plans for the communities of practice
To get involved, you can join one of four workshops which are running across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. You can join whichever workshop you would like, however we would encourage you to choose the closest workshop to your base so you are involved in your local community of practice.
 The dates are:
Thursday 13 September – Exeter Racecourse, Exeter
Friday 14 September – Headland Hotel, Torquay
Thursday 11 October – Broomhill Art Hotel, Barnstaple
Friday 12 October – Future Inns, Plymouth
Six- and 12-month follow-up workshops will be held to monitor progress and support communities of practice with this work.
Everyone who wants to help enhance children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing is welcome.  We particularly want to engage with: schools and colleges; the voluntary sector; youth offending teams; speech and language therapists; CAMHS; social care teams; school nurses; health visitors; children’s centres; early years; police officers; consultant paediatricians; educational psychologists; clinical psychologists; GPs; Public Health teams; acute hospital staff; drug and alcohol support staff; and commissioners. The list is endless.
If you have any queries, please contact events@swahsn.com or Louise Arrow (l.arrow1@nhs.net, 01803 652455, 07584509138), commissioning manager for children and young people’s mental health.
Further details, including venue information and an agenda, will be shared in due course.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshops.
